2010 Walter Gretzky Tournament News (Mar 2010)
Thank you to all visiting teams, players, coaches, friends
and family for helping to make our tournament a success. A special thanks to the
many volunteers.
Message from the President (Jan
2010)
To the Members of the Brantford Girls Hockey Association
There are lots of good things going on this year for our organization and I would
like to update you in regards to the construction of the new arena complex and what
that means for the balance of this season and next.
- The yellow rink has been completely demolished. Temporary parking has been added
on the former location of the tennis courts.
- Grading of the site is underway with foundations being laid for all four new surfaces.
- The original plan was to have two new surfaces ready for September 2010.
- The intent now is to have all four surfaces ready for February 2011, meaning the
blue and red rinks will remain in use for most of the 2010/11 season.
- The only ice in Brantford from mid-May through late August 2010 will be the red
rink.
- We have secured additional ice time at the new County Twin Pad for the fall which
will allow us to expand our program for next year.
BGHA is planning on holding tryouts earlier this year immediately following the
provincials. Please take note on our website for updates and specific dates when
they are finalized.
I am also looking for feedback from you as to what we are doing well as an organization
and what we need to focus on to serve you better. Please email me at

Upcoming is the 29th Annual Walter Gretzky Girls Hockey Tournament, Feb 25
-28, 2010. This is our main fundraiser and one of Girls Hockeys premiere tournaments.
Please come out and support the girls.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we transition from the old to the
new facility.

serve you better.

2010 - 2011 Season Coaching Applications (Dec 2009)
The coaching application deadline for the 2010-2011 season will be January 15,
2010.
BGHA rep team divisions will be:
Atom - Intermediate A/AA
Novice - Midget B/BB
